It's really good and there are no music choices that feel jarring, I never knew a lot of hip-hop tracks could actually carry the 'weird' feel of this game and fit in seamlessly. I actually played this just fine to completion even with a headered rom, so I'm not sure if a headerless rom is actually necessary. Would recommend, but aid in track listings is not provided so make sure you have access to a phone with Shazam if you're the type to need source on tracks that grab you...

This hack has breathed new life into this game for me. The selections are great, and this (coupled with the excellent Maternalbound Redux) is probably the way I'm always gonna play the game from now on.

I will say however, the selections towards the end of the game (mainly after Fourside) can get a little boring. The music at the beginning is so unique that the beats towards the end start to feel generic in comparison. I was especially disappointed that the music in Winters is mostly replaced with songs straight from the Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack.

I also have to say, as someone who's not super familiar with hip hop, that I'm bummed there isn't a tracklist anywhere with the names of the songs and artists. It seems like it would be a great way to tour the genre if there were a youtube playlist link or even just a .txt file listing what this hack samples. I'm using Shazam on the playthrough I'm currently doing but it doesn't always work, and I'd like to know what I'm listening to.

Ive beaten Earthbound once over a decade ago, but couldn't bring myself to do it again before this mod. The Hip-Hop Journey is a great hack to an ok game. I love most of the music choices so far (not including the title screen), but i've only just got the Pencil Eraser. The music does fit the tone of the game. I got a chuckle out of certain themes tho, knowing the source music. I got this running on my SNES Classic and hooked to a big screen with a sound setup. I would definitely recommend, especially if you are a passing music fan.

I was never too big into Earthbound, but this hack has me fixed on this game. The music is really great. It flows with the game very well and it sucks you into the story. In fact I am farther now due to this hack then I was without it. I would strongly suggest this hack to anyone because it's that good.
