Hack description

This patch is meant to make the game a bit easier and less frustrating. Applying this patch to Mega Man 2 will make the weapon energy of all weapons restore fully whenever a life is lost. This mechanic is officially applied in Mega Man games for the PS1 and later.

Situations where this primarily affects the game:
- During boss fights
- Wily Stage 1 (Mandatory Item-1)
- Wily Stage 4 (Mandatory Crash Bomb)

Mmm... Refills...Eldrethor2021-09-14Version 1.0

Talk to anyone who owned a NES and they will tell you that Mega Man 2 is a classic, but no one ever talks about the clunky weapon energy management that encourage players to hoard most of their weapons for bosses. They also don't talk about how hard subsequent Quick Man attempts are if you die after draining your Time Stopper on the first try, or how the last boss is literally unbeatable if you run out of Bubble Lead.

Of course, these issues are trivial for most Mega Man veterans. For newcomers though, this hack makes a world of difference. Refilling your weapon energy after every death opens up the opportunity to try different weapons as you explore each stage, and you're given a fair fighting chance after each boss wipe. It also means not having to waste time refilling your Crash Bombers, if you were tricked into depleting them against the Wily Stage 4 boss. It's a great quality-of-life change that makes extra lives worth a lot more than they previously did.

Overall, great work from Thirteen 1355. It's especially handy if you're new to Mega Man 2, but you probably won't get much out of it if you already know the game like the back of your hand. Either way, this hack is totally worth a shot.

A must have! A needed patch!danuffo2020-08-22Version 1.0

This patch fixes one of the important flaws in the game: the Final Boss

The player needs to destroy the final boss with a unique and specific consumable weapon.

If the player loses that final battle one time and consumed all the weapon, then the player can't win the game in anyway, the player is forced to kill the character until Game Over screen in a unfairly way (losing all collected E tanks as well).

I know it can be useful for other situations, but in the other cases the player can still refill the weapons destroying enemies, in the final stage they can not.

I think this patch would be something the original developers should have given to make a fair game.

Not much to say about it other than that it works as intended. I'm a teensy bit miffed that it doesn't work with kuja killer's Slide and Charge Shot hack, however it DOES work with FateForWindows's No Skid. If that could be corrected, I think it would be a great addition to the "ultimate" Mega Man 2 set of hacks.
