Hack description

Like the previous two, this sequel puts the player in control of Protoman from the classic series once again.


Features:

1.All of X's graphic tiles have been changed with sprites of Protoman

2.New dialogue

3.Protoman has his own weapon get sprite

4.Protoman has his own 1up sprite

5.Protoman has his own menu icon

6.Protoman has his own life bar icon

7.Charge shot palettes are different

8.Can only access 3 upgrade enhancement capsules like the first title
(The red/pink capsules can be accessed)

9.New weapon colors

10.Protoman has his own intro cutscene sprite

11.Protoman has his own menu protrait

12.Protoman has his own stage select icon

14.Changed X.Buster to P.Buster in the weapons menu
(This changed the spelling of the word "EXIT" making it spell "EPIT")

    would be recommend the most is flips.

    Introduction

    Now that I've completed X3 Proto Edition from beginning to end, I can now add my input. A functional, playable Protoman! While it's functional, I have noticed along the way a number of issues that needs to be worked on as well as a number of areas that could be improved upon on. I will address them below:

    Game-play Review

    There has been a significant increased in difficulty that I wasn't expecting. I thought I would be playing an equivalent version of Mega Man X but with Protoman, but it was actually tougher. It was tough because there were lower HP and no armor upgrade to reduce damage. So in order to beat a level or game, you need to focus greatly on dodging and make great use of the sub-tanks. In order to combat this, you are given greater blast attacks to have a fighting chance, which is really cool. The color palettes on his armor and his power-ups have been properly colored to not give too much saturation or too little, so it feels authentic to playing as X.

    Writing Review

    The narrative being told here has been decent. I've noticed that Dr. Light, Sigma and everyone else is talking to Protoman like a character rather than a placeholder for X. It would help to differentiate between X and Protoman dialog texts, so we could get more of his back-story. The dialog with Protoman should have consistent text colors. Protoman texts should have a Red Tint or Gold Tint to differentiate him and the others. Also, multiple spelling and grammar issues that still needs to be addressed and corrected.

    Suggestions

    If possible, having a workable moving scarf would really be great and authentic, as it was done in X1.

    If possible, perhaps adding his signature shield to his back as an appearance, as it was done in X1.

    Having the Protoman entrance whistle whenever he is going to start the level would be great.

    Giving Protoman a sword is a really cool idea. I think the color scheme should be like the TV show.

    Mega Man NT Warrior Protoman.exe's sword, which is a Reddish Pink outline with White in the middle. I think it would be a cool feature to incorporate as a nod to the show.

    Conclusion

    After reviewing this, I believe this is a great Protoman experience so far, but it has so much room for improvement. The difficulty of this hack is targeted more for veteran players in order to complete the game. I recommend this for anyone who wishes to try out the ProtoMan 21XX experience. Hopefully one day we will be one step closer to getting a greater version of Protoman in the future.
