RECOMMENDATION: MASSIVE NO

SUMMARY:

Peach's new Kart Fighter attire and Electra's twin sisters rock the DX look. It's a shame everyone else looks like they were left in an alpha version. The two common crooks, Galsia and Donovan, got their heads replaced by Goomba and Koopa heads, respectfully. Bowser's syndicate abominations get worse with titanic shy guy toddlers, amazonian women, and Mario items possessing most of the heavies in Mr. X's gang. Peach and her pal Roll from Dr. Light's lab are going to have some serious trouble getting through these mutants with their sluggish attacks. Not only are their attacks feeble combo-wise, the back attack will turn the game into a soft lock with only the music playing while the Peach DX universe freezes. The big rusty nail in the coffin is the sheer amounts of hard-to-deal-with characters like Ravens/Eagles (Marikos/Cheerleaders) and, to a lesser extent, Mifunes/ninjas (Aska/TMNT ninja gal). With enemies like these being all over the place in some sections (both Stage 4 and 8's elevators), this giant peach is spoiled rotten!

GOOD:

• A handful of decent/good sprites

+ Peach's refined Kart Fighter sprite is decent

+ Seeing Electra in place and behaving similar to Barbon and Jet was fun to see. Electra and Hakuyo's fill-in (BK3 Garnet) look the least awkward

• Bosses have less health so they don't slow down the game as much

BAD:

• Bad Moves on both characters

+ The back attack freezes the game

+ Both Peach and Roll have sluggish combos for how weak they are

• Poor enemy placements

+ Loads of Ravens/Eagles can be found on every level (including the first level)

+ Elevator sections are loaded with more difficult enemies

• Ugly and/or annoying enemies

+ Galsias and Donovans are just poorly edited head swaps

+ Storms are the Foot Clan, but the lack of scaling causes them to appear dwarfish

+ Big Bens look like giant toddlers girls, wear masks that look like they belong to Shy Guys, and have no shading outside of the masks.

+ Zamza, Abedede, and R. Bear are glowing silhouettes with Mario items in the middle of them

+ Signals and Minfunes/Ninjas are very large and have extended range

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Even though this hack is called Peach DX, there are plenty of non-Mario characters in the game with one of them being Roll, the only other playable character in this hack besides Peach, from Mega Man. Her being playable is somewhat out of place seeing how there are plenty of other characters that could have been playable alongside Peach (Toadette easily comes to mind). Also, her moveset pales in comparison to the NOT queen of the Mushroom Kingdom. Peach really needs to make some better friends in better places; who knows what Bowser will do to her property when Mario's away.

Pros: I like the custom texture and font in this hack, and redoing Peach's Sprite from Kart Fighter to her canon colors is pretty well made, that's it.

Cons: Questionable enemy placement, an agonizingly hard AI difficulty, obnoxious ko sounds, Pantyshots (Like seriously, why include this) and the final boss fights is handled awkwardly.

Also, it has the same flaws back in the Sailor moon Hack, it's basically the same but reduced to two playable characters, that being: Peach (no, duh) and Roll from Mega man, which clearly the author of this hack is biased.

Overall: 4/10 Do i recommend this hack? Absolutely not.
