"IT HAS BEGUN!"ShaunGhaun2024-07-20Version 2.0

THIS should have been MORTAL KOMBAT on the SNES! Sure, there's NO Blood, which has Always been a problem for everyone within the USA Regin, BUT, IF I could ONLY choose which was added, I'd rather choose to Play as REPTILE, GORO & SHANG TSUNG instead!

Holding SELECT while choosing SUB-ZERO for REPTILE, holding SELECT while choosing JOHNNY CAGE for GORO & holding SELECT while choosing LIU-KANG for SHANG TSUNG? These CODES are "SUPERB!"

The only Trial-&-Error I find for GORO & SHANG TSUNG is that you CAN'T move Backwards when you play as GORO, while you CAN'T move Forward while playing as SHANG TSUNG.

Other than those problems, this version of Mortal Kombat is THE BEST version on this Website!!

Hopefully, we'll all get to see the BOSS hack & BLOOD hack combined into a 2-In-1 Masterpiece!

Stomping your foes as Goro has never been so fun!peacefighter2022-12-06Version 2.0

This is a great way to play Mortal Kombat. Having ALL characters playable is a great improvement I really love Goro's play style. I always shy away from the SNES port, but adding the blood hack (a separate hack) and then this hack over it makes this a very fun way to play MK1. I recommend this for any fans.

Don't forget the separate Blood Patch.

Great Hack!Hostmaster2021-09-14Version Mortal Kom

Great hack, like a dream come true! But fatalities doensn't seem to work on the uncesored version of this hack (the one with blood). It would be great if the author of someone could fix this.

Finally this was done !Ligeia2019-12-10Version 1.0

I wanna praise the hacker who did this hack. Why did no one did this before ? Being able to play as the bosses is a delight and a dream come true as far as I'm concerned. Yes ,there are minors improvements to be made as other reviewers have pointed out, but this is a great start. My suggestion is : if you wanna do a SF II Champion Edition-like version of MK, what about getting rid of those codes and just properly adding the bosses to the character select screen, with portraits and everything ? I hope you keep it up with MK2.

Fighters seem to walk a bit slow, but still funPolargames2019-12-07Version 1.0

I gave this a try and so far I really like it. I did not have any glitching like what is stated, but again I just started so far and can only comment what I have played. So far everything is great. The only issue for me is that the fighters seem to move slower then normal. Not a major issue for me, just wanted to let the author of the patch know. Other then that I would recommend this to anyone, its still a lot of fun. :-D

Edit: Please ignore the part where I said it runs a bit slow. The author sent me a message after doing some test on the hack vs the og and both ran at the same speed. Its been a long time from the last time I played MK that its why I though it ran slow.

The author was very nice about it and helpful, So I update my comment to everyone should give this hack a try because the author put a lot of heart into it. :-D

6 stars out of 5 for sure. :-D

This is what we are talking aboutscorpion232019-12-01Version 1.0

This is what many fans could die for, playable Mk 1, 2 and 3 bosses! We already have tha arcade verison of MKII Plus, this gives us control of Khand, Kintaro and the secret ninjas, and we can't wait to see MK 1 PLUS! But this is outstanding as it gives us a preview of how powerful and resourceful these bosses are, specially Goro. With him, one could beat the game in a mere 6 minutes or so!

Not A Flawless Victory But It's SolidEldrethor2019-11-30Version 1.0

This patch does exactly what it seeks to do, and it gets the job done wonderfully. All three characters are easy to access with the Select button, and they can go through the Tournament mode without any game-breaking crashes.

What surprised me most about this patch was that this reveals that the bosses are not as overpowered as the AI makes them out to be. For example, Goro hits like a dump truck but his punches are slow to the point where they can easily be interrupted mid-swing. Both he and Shang Tsung are also unable to walk backwards and jump like a normal character, which limits their mobility. Reptile has the advantage of having both Sub-Zero and Scorpion's movesets, but switching between them in the heat of battle can be tricky.

As Snark stated, there are graphical glitches when doing mirror matches with the boss characters, and while it's an eyesore, they're functionally fine for the most part. My only criticism is that Goro feels exceptionally sluggish, to the point of unresponsive, when pitting him against his glitchy shadowy mirror match, and I can't tell if the AI is simply faster or if my button presses really weren't registering.

Another nice touch was having access to The Pit stage, which I don't recall being accessible in the base game unless you got Reptile to challenge you. I also appreciate the nod to the Mortal Kombat movie, where you have to highlight Johnny Cage to get Goro, and Liu Kang to get Shang Tsung. Sub-Zero for Reptile is also easy to remember, since it's one ninja for another.

While there's definitely room for polish, this is a nice way to experiment with the bosses, and the implementation works very nicely. If the graphical glitches can be cleaned up, then this patch would be absolutely perfect, but even as is, it's a solid hack.

Goro lives... as you!RealGaea2019-11-26Version 1.0

Finally some love to the tenderized version of MK.

I recommend to merge it with the blood patch version.
