Hack description

Brand new version of the hack Sonic 2 SatAM Edition, this time trying to follow more closely my original idea, to change Tails for Princess Sally. Unhappily I could just change the character main sprites so far, so special stages and ending still show Tails instead, as much as any text was changed so far as well. Note: If you think you can help me to fix that problems, just contact me by e-mail, capitaoazulao@gmail.com, I would be so pleased to conclude this project as it should be :)

-- In this hack so far

- new sprites for Sonic;
- Tails main sprites, and Signposts changed for Sally Acorn;
- Western design for Doctor Robotnik;
- creepier and less colorful design for many badniks, to make them look more like soulless machines, just like in the show.
- Version 2.1 brand new addon - now with Sally's sprites on special stages as well

-- What I wanted to do but couldn't so far (helping from more experienced hackers welcome):

- Change all Tail's sprites for Sally's (including endings and HUD's);
- Replace all text about Tails as well;
- Maybe re-editing Robotnik's sprites, as I think they could be better used.

The pics should tell you everything you need to know about this hack. A lot of us STILL miss the Sonic SatAM / Archie continuity, so this is a great addition to the Sonic hack world. Tails, Robotnik and the recolored robots look really great (I've played through Emerald Hill and Chem Plant). Sonic looks to be based off his Sonic 3 sprite, which is shaded differently than 2 to look more "3-D". It looks a little out of place to me, personally. I think if the look was "flatter" the uniqueness of the new sprite would standout more. But the team redid almost all of his frames, so I think if you're down with the style, you'll definitely like it. And if you want to nitpick, Tails isn't recolored in the special stages. Probably a different programming challenge. But this is sweet, and I hope it gets expanded upon! I'm picturing a Sonic CD hack with Sally replacing Amy ;)
