| What a great hack! It's another game! | peixemacaco | 2020-05-04 | Version Review ver |
How great! My first review for such an interesting Hack you all must try! Lol, it´s another game! No more Super Mario... Even if you're not a Marvel fan, you will be amazed... I'd enjoyed since the beginning till the end. But, you must answer correctly, or it will comeback to the 1st question of the area... Well, who cares? Answer again, so many great questions, not the ones from Deadpool... lol Congrats to Billy's games and all people that helped him. Nelson
| A great concept executed pretty well | Finnbro | 2020-04-28 | Version 3.0 |
This is such a treat! Hard to believe this is a rom hack of Super Mario World, but that nevertheless seems to have provided a solid base for this transformative rom hack. Instead of being a platformer game, this is now a text based quiz gauntlet that has you visiting with different Marvel Comics characters, testing your knowledge of the IP and saving the world from either Thanos or Galactus. The first mode featuring Thanos as the final challenge is not too difficult but the second mode against Galactus heightens the challenge quickly. Even my girlfriend who is a hardcore comic book fan and collector started to struggle with those later questions! The sprite work, music choices and general presentation are very well done for a Super Nintendo rom hack. My main criticism lies with the grammar, with several occasions of incorrect spelling, capitalization and word usage plaguing the otherwise decently written script. Shoring up these errors would go a long way in helping this project appear more professional. I'd also like to see either more modes added with new questions or some other way to switch up the questions to increase the replay value. Otherwise this is a really cool experience that I highly recommend for any fans of Marvel comics or movies. It made for a fun evening activity. This concept really could be fleshed out and used with other fictional properties or subjects...would love to see it! In the meantime, check out Simpsons Trivia on Master System or MilioNESy on NES for similar gameplay.
