Fun, but a little challenging. Sprites could be improved a bit.iridium_ionizer2020-05-28Version 7.0

Erica and Gaby, the little girl protagonists, are well drawn. They could be improved by match their hit boxes with the sprite sizes (they will hit a box with 8 pixels of air between them and the top of their head). Also there is a difference in heights between the standing and running animations - it would look less jarring if they were the same.

The smaller versions also could use more animation when running. A lack of more prominent visual cues may make the controls feel a little loose even though they haven't changed. It would also be nice if both girls shared a visual cue when getting fire power, such as becoming red heads (but that is my personal preference).

There are many small changes in the backgrounds that are different (some inspired the Japanese SMB2) and the fonts - none of these are distracting, which is a good thing.

I got as far as Level 3-4, and the difficulty starts getting a bit beyond the original SMB1 (it really begins to get slightly harder at 1-2). I'm sure those with kaizo skills will breeze through this, but others may find it a bit more difficult.

No bugs were noticed, everything worked fine. This is a good entry especially if you want a female protagonist that is not a princess, as long as you are willing to take on a challenge (not so simple a quest).
