Hack description

Many if not all rooms have been redesigned from the originals. Play-tested a lot and made many corrections. Hopefully all places that otherwise would cause player to get stuck and forced to reset have been modified and fixed.

This is the author's 1st attempt at a hack. Please see Metro Android 2 hack which uses Metro Android 1 as a base but is a massive expansion and rebuild and greatly expands upon what the author learned while making Metro Android 1.

Please see Readme for prologue and other information, etc. Enjoy!

Poor design.gravitygoesup12020-05-12Version 1.3

This hack suffers right at the start from poor platform design and enemy placement. I did not finish it and I put it down after four tries because I do not want to play something that is not fun and I don't want to waste my time.

The skrees are placed in the worst places possible: over lava. When skrees are over lava, they don't fall on ground because lava isn't solid ground in the game. The game thinks that they are still falling, so they move with you while you're trying to platform. If you fall into the lava, you hit the skree and take 8 damage, then the 4 or 5 dps from the lava, and then you're dead in seconds, unless you somehow can get to the platform at the end of the room. The first room has a long pit of lava with no safety blocks (blocks you can jump on from lava) with skrees above every other platform. I would be fine with it if the skrees were replaced with Rios or if the platforming was morph-jump based:

Some of the jumps require the morph ball jump glitch, which, IMO, should be specified as required tech in the hack description. Morph ball tech should be implied by a certain setup, such as platforms close to the ceiling, but the platforms are placed in an awkward spot where you could make the jump normally, but sometimes you hit your head and can't make it.

There's a screen-scroll error in the first vertical room, so I don't know what's going on there.

Couldn't find bombs, so I turned back from a dead end and then died again to the skree spazzing out in the lava.

If this is how the entire hack is going to be, I don't want to play the rest of it. Don't waste your time with this.
