Works Great on EZ Flash JR and EverDrive GB x5submarine1152024-05-19Version 1.0

Works w my FPGBC and Everdrive GB x5, used MultiPatch on MAC, Tetris (World) (Rev A).gb. Works like a charm. To confirm saving on this cart or even on EZ Flash Jr, once the file is saved in game, hit the button on the cartridge, and make sure battery is fresh.

Nice, unexpected feature for a romhackSintra42024-02-13Version 1.0

I was pleasantly surprised to see a hack that adds fastdrops to the Gameboy version of Tetris. I usually play more recent versions, and it's a little hard to play without the modern features. Thankfully, this hack works perfectly. I've played several games now and have had no issues whatsoever. Now if only someone could figure out how to implement holding a piece for later, the Gameboy version of Tetris would be literally perfect. With this hack, however, it's already my favorite portable version.

YES! Tetris GB DefinitiveJuneFromCapeVeer2020-11-12Version 1.0

This thing fixes all the shortcomings with the original game, without adding modern features that would change the integrity of the classic. I highly recommend it for Tetris enthusiasts.

Fantastic QOL improvements to GB Tetrismbz2020-08-21Version 1.0

For starters, I disagree with the review below mine: I think the hard-drop feature is a welcome QOL addition, and I don't think it breaks the atmosphere of GB Tetris at all. I mainly use the hard-drop feature to quickly forfeit games, and it becomes redundant at levels 10+ (even for its intended function) as soon as blocks start falling at a rapid rate. Furthermore, the 'bag' and piece-swapping were major gameplay changes in later games that if implemented, would drastically change the style of 'classic' Tetris to something unrecognizable.

The score saves work flawlessly on both my EZFlash Jr and my EverDrive GB X5. The rocket skip option is excellent. Overall, this is a much appreciated romhack that I've used and abused for the past few weeks and I sincerely thank the developers for aggregating the QOL's into one nice romhack.

My one suggestion to improve this romhack would be to add an instant quit-option to games by pressing Select during pause, which is a feature in Tetris DX.

An Uncanny Valley - Still GoodPowerPanda2020-05-08Version 0.1

Once you have played with the hard drop, it's hard to imagine playing any other way. Ospin ported the mechanic perfectly to what most of us call "the original Tetris", the one for gameboy. So yes, this hack is recommended. I for one hope he also does it for some other releases.

The crazy part though is that adding the hard drop to the original gameboy creates an uncanny valley for the game. I get the hard drop, but I don't get "the bag". I don't get a preview of where the block will end up. I don't get the ability to hold a block in reserve. As a result, I can't imagine a situation where I'd want to play this version. If I wanted to play oldschool Tetris, without all of the new additions, I'd play the original gameboy version. If I wanted the new additions, I'd play the DS version. But would I ever have the itch to play the oldschool game with just the hard drop? Eh... maybe? I'll still load it onto my devices just in case.
