This hack takes place in a beautiful starlit world with excellent visual design. There are plenty of bright colors to stand against the black night sky, and the way everything is put together is enchanting. The entire last world, in particular, is stunning, using a gorgeous shade of pink for much of it. The level design is tough, but manageable; there are only a few spots that might get frustrating. Definitely worth checking out!

Now I'll say this: "It's a little more complicated than the original, but it doesn't overdo the complexity." Gives freshness and interest to the levels of local graphics and level design. It will go to increase the skill in the game, and to those who are already pretty good at Mario classic games
| This is amazing! | INTERLECTRA | 2020-08-09 | Version 1.0a |
Wow. All the graphics look amazing, the level design is great, this is one of the best ROM Hacks I've ever played. I've only got 1 piece of feedback and that is to add new music. Great levels, great graphics, but I think some new music would make it perfect! Great work. ~ INTERLECTRA
| Right length, right challenge | KevvyLava | 2020-08-03 | Version 1.0a |
This was a really nice experience. Strikes a good balance on difficulty and is a great hack. Recommended to anyone that likes Mario hacks. The jumps & timing come at you quick at times, but there are enough powerups to keep things moving along. And not too many levels, either, which is nice for the average fan. Worth not only playing, but keeping in your collection of hacks.
| This is an amazing hack! | gravitygoesup1 | 2020-07-20 | Version 1.0a |
Graphics: It has a Lost Levels look and has some enemies from SMB3, but the star background makes the game much more moody. Gameplay: The platforming is fun and intuitive. I especially like the devious cannon placements in 2-4. Enemies and platforms are placed in ways that make you slow down and survey the situation. I have not yet beaten this hack, I died at the end of 2-4 because a bullet backstabbed me, but I cannot wait to see what is in World 3. This hack is a good start for people who want to get into SMB1 hacks because there are some hard ones out there. Starlight Mario is harder than the original, but it's fair. Definitely recommend for your ROM hack library!
| One of The Most Solid SMB1 Hacks I've Played! | Tritnew | 2020-07-05 | Version 1.0 |
Most hacks get too hard, and some get a bit too easy, to downright bullcrap, but this one managed to keep me interested and gradually build up the difficulty very nicely. Graphics are top-notch, I like the addition of using the Donkey Kong palette for Mario's sprite, the length is short but sweet, and it got kinda Lost Levels difficult in some areas. But overall, Starlight Mario was very fun, and I recommend anyone check it out at least once.
