I just got done playing this hack, and everything, when it comes to the Worlds and Levels, to be completely identical to the original. The only changes had to do with the way you collect items and having a death counter instead of getting lives and losing them upon death. That's it. Well, besides the fact you are playing with Peach and Daisy. Same game, fresh coat of paint. A definite NO from me.
| This hack has made Super Royal Pals. be my favorite series. | Vallenatero2015 | 2022-08-14 | Version 1.2 |
Apart from the appearance of Peach and Daisy and the elimination of the life count and accumulated score system, the first mentioned item is also replaced by the counter of times Peach or Daisy die in the attempt in a certain level. Thank you QUXNLADY. Your hack really made me fall in love even more with what is already my favorite saga: Super Royal Pals.

This is obviously not the first hack to invert the perennial damsel in distress trope of Mario games but if something's worth doing it's worth doing it repeatedly. Some related tropes are left intact like the women being princesses in dresses with little crowns which doesn't seem ideal for what they are doing, while the men's attire shows them to be working class, but let's just say that the hack is lore-friendly in this aspect. Anyway, the new sprites are nicely drawn, and the animations all look good. The gameplay changes are relatively small but I find all of them positive. The one with the most impact is the removal of lives (personally I'd prefer to even remove the death counter) and as a result of a Game Over. If you are playing for the challenge then this might not be what you want. But I don't see how having to start from the beginning again adds anything to a game. The hack is also much more generous with items so you can start pretty much every stage with one if you so desire. This all allows for nice casual playing which for me improves the experience. Being able shoot upward is neat, too.
