I've played a lot of different romhacks over the years. This was the first to make me do a full belly laugh. Even though the goal isn't humor, Meditatris subverts expectations brilliantly in a way that's subtle and, as far as I can tell, incredibly effective.

What you get is exactly as described - slow Tetris with no distraction, music, score, or ability to speed things up. The only goal is to gently keep your focus. If you're someone who has found meditation challenging I highly recommend spending some time with Meditatris. It delivers on its promise of providing a new kind of object focus.

I've seen it all when it came to hacks with Tetris on various systems as well as unlicensed games, but Meditatris threw me for a loop. It does what is described: it's both an aid for meditation and for me who isn't too far into it, very relaxing. Tetris demands a lot out of the player at higher levels of play but with this hack, you don't have to worry about any of the twitchy movement, strategy, or any techniques at all to play this.

I'm not a pro player by any means and don't wish to become one given that I tried TGM and failed at it given the ridiculous rules and timing that I don't have. Meditatris offers something new and is a grounded game that doesn't feel too alienating to anyone. I've always been someone who thinks games should not only be fun, but also a tool to do more and this game satisfies an otherwise unknown niche.
