Super Mario Kart Mirror Mode is a high quality collaborative hack by the SMKWorkshop team that brings new life into the original classic.

Play this new twist on a old classic featuring the following changes:

- All 24 track layouts perfectly mirrored

- All track overlays mirrored (GP, TT and Vs. Modes)

- Object placements Mirrored, including Ghost Valley's pillars

- CPU AI Mirrored

- Mirrored animated tiles (Water, Lava, etc.)

- Mirrored track background layouts

- Mirrored title screen animation routine

- Mirrored demo input recordings

- Mirrored player select screen

- Mirrored race results screen background and animations

- Mirrored cup select screen animations

- Mirrored podium background, and cloud direction

- Additional mirrored track tiles where required

ROM size has been kept to 512KB - One of the aims of this hack was to do in in an elegant way as possible and keep within the confine of the original ROM size

I am not very good at playing Mario kart and it is seldom that I got to play mirror mode in later installments of MK. Then I decided to download this hack and play it for a long time and it seemed perfect. SMK is not my favorite game in this series but this hack made me appreciate the original game. This is an additional experience to super Mario kart that I recommend it for any Mario Kart fan.

Amazing finally seeing this staple feature of all modern Mario Kart games come to the original in such a flawless fashion. I found one very minor issue that I shared with one of the devs, but it is something that a majority of players will never encounter. It's really a perfect 1 to 1 mirroring... you'd wonder why it took the community or even Nintendo so long to put together a Mario Kart staple. No stone is left unturned... literally everything has been flipped. Results and select screens and backgrounds. It's definitely a product of love. Most hacks have some odd points or rough areas, but since these are official Nintendo courses, everything feels so different yet familiar. People who haven't played the game in awhile might actually not realize the courses have been flipped, because it's THAT accurate. Basic point, if you play Super Mario Kart in 2020 and beyond, there no reason to not play this hack. It's worth every second.
