Hack description

New Story

Voyager of Time takes place after Majora's Mask, but it is not a direct sequel. Link has come back to the Kokiri Forest to try and find peace after his last adventure. It is implied that he has had a third adventure in Termina but with the fairy Tael instead of Tatl. The younger brother of the feisty Tatl is a bit more subdued, but also more brave than what we've seen in Majora's Mask. He can hold his own and he and Link have grown to be great friends.

The game starts out with Link having nightmares of his past adventures. The Deku Tree Sprout, descendant of the Great Deku Tree has summoned Link because he has sensed great evil growing lately. Link is sent on a quest to help out with the growing problems in Hyrule.

Along the way, you find that the Door of Time has been broken again by the evil villain, Ganondorf, and you must find a way to stop his rampage once more. There's some twists and turns along the way, as Link's items are spread out in an unfamiliar way. Link also has to face some major problems that hit a little too close to home.

The game features heavy time travel as well as side stories that highlight the problems with time traveling in general. Many places are transformed over the period of seven years that Ganondorf was in rule, and Link has to deal with the problems of his closest friends. On top of that, there may be another problem Link doesn't realize until it's too late...

Updated Environments

The overworld is changed quite a lot from the original Ocarina of Time. There is an attempt to make each village and section of the map seem more lively and have more character than ever before. NPCs are useful to talk to, and they give hints to the world around you. There are small stories they tell you, and even new sidequests you can accept.

The biggest change is the difference between the child and adult sections. The child sections are meant to feel more innocent and alive, and the adult sections are meant to showcase the utter destruction of Ganondorf. This is not to be intentionally dark, but just to show a realistic change that would happen over seven years.

I get what you were trying to do but...JeremySolo2024-03-28Version 1.0

Its a nice ideas to have a hack that is basically OOT but puts a new spin on it. I was intrigued by this and from what Ive seen so far you've done a lot of things right. But there are some things that just break the fourth wall too much. The most egregious of these is the Deku Tree "Sprout". In OOT the sprout didnt awaken until Link was already an adult and conquered the forest temple. And when he did, he was an actual sprout. I understand you putting him in the child era for the sake of the story, but you cant give me the full grown, centuries old, mustachioed Deku tree model and tell me that its the Sprout. A better option would have been to put the model for the actual sprout in its usual spot and change the story a bit to where the sprout was upset that they were desecrating its father's remains or something. Other than that there are little things that can irk fans, such as it being Tael as your fairy but for some reason the prompt still says Navi, etc. Idk, Its clear you put a lot of work into this but its a shame that some obvious things somehow got overlooked. It leaves me confused on whether or not I can reccommend this one.

A really fun way to play ocarina.richterwilker2023-04-06Version 1.0

Been playing this lately, as i've wanted to scratch the urge to play Ocarina again, but i wanted something like "same game, but expanded", not a full romhack in the sense of new maps, but same environment, new stories, new quests, and this is exactly what this is.

It's weirdly cozy and refreshing, to revisit locations and see that there's always a spin to it, and the "sequel" approach that the author took to it works quite well. The dialogue and lore is always well written, there's some humor here and there that gets a smile out of me.

I'm having alot of fun and i definitely recommend it to people wanting to revisit Ocarina. You'll go through the same beats, but there's always something new to caught you off guard. And read all the signs! I got surprised as i've never looked for signs to read, and in this game i caught myself thinking "is there more signs in this area to check?". I loved reading them.

It delivers exactly what it proposes to. 1010.

It's just Master Quest with a twistMAOT6662021-12-14Version 1.0

Some spoilers ahead: I'm not going to fault this game to much as it was made in 2015 before we got better tools to mess around with this game, but showing this game can get a little buggy if you do certain things out of order than being told what the characters say to like "Go here before you go there" I found in my 2nd playthrough of this game, So I did play this more than once

I did like some changes thoughout Hyrule Field as child and adult, using an item as child that was only made for adult, and getting the BGS early as adult was a nice touch The mixing around of items was another nice touch because you made you do a little things different from vanilla MQ, but like I said... Its just the same dungeons as Master Quest and not really that fun doing the same dungeon as the original 1 Big problem I had with this mod.. It's not even 100% completable, I could only find 89 Skulltulas and 19 and a half heart containers (Unless I used glitches and bomb hovers to get them)

There's really no point into this game unless you want a little story change and a little mix up with the items, but other than that, its not really worth your time

5.5/10
