Simon got even better, plus suggestionMegaManModelT1012023-03-06Version 2.3.75

So I've been aware of this hack some time ago and had it back in its early stages when it was still only functional with the Japanese release of the ROM, but rediscovered it when it was made available for the US ROM release. The additions and tweaks for the bonus characters being able to equip items and the spell books is really helpful, makes them feel more complete.

And the new Simons are amazing to play as, I kind of prefer his modified IV into II rendition overall, and the shield dash ability is a shockingly fun addition. So many options to play as and most of the characters feel very well designed and handled, even the Bloodlines cast is fairly superb.

If I could suggest, I would like to see Miriam and or Dominique to be added via their Bloodstained Curse of the Moon 1 and 2 depictions. I feel there's plenty to work with to make them function. Plus maybe the CV fighter rendition of Sonia Belmont wouldn't go amiss either.

But regardless, I'm eager to see what further characters get added to this hack.

One of the most satisfying things, happened to all RomHacking communities this yearAceearly19932022-07-06Version 2.0.1

Although the flaws in the original Japanese Revenge of the Findesiecle were left unsolved, the conversion from Japanese version to USA version is almost byte by byte perfect, I was given a really good time being hyped by Revenge of the Findesiecle all over again. And as time went by, there're two major updates that were happened since 1.0.1 while the more recent Bloodlines Update being my second favourite, only topped by the more universally compatible v2.0.1.

The Bloodlines Update expanded so many things upon the already improved v2.0.1; Aside from Julius, Maxim now also has his unique pause menu and can equip anything he could pick up from overall map. Julius and Maxim now can also access shops and buy staff just like Juste's game. The issue in the original Findesiecle that original characters will always be knocked down when damaged by enemies, is fixed, this is a welcome trait that I wish the v2.0.1 version could also benifit from it.

The inclusion of Bloodlines tag is super cool, and even has some Bloodlines music imported into the game (!) although there're some weird preference (John's crouching attack uses axe rather than his whip, for example) I can live with it.

The only major issue for Bloodlines Update is the classic simon. Although he can beat the main campaign without problem even in the current state which he started from level 1 rather than level 50-ish, his defence always seems too fragile if he's at the same level as other characters, especially considering his slow motions first. He could have some armors automatically equipped with him to balance his slow motions to some extent.

In conclusion, this is a delicious pack that I recommend all Castlevania fans to have a taste and enjoy it. You won't regret having tried Revenge of the Findesiecle once again since the changed content for furnitures description are all localized. Thanks in advance again, [sorrow]!!! You earned everyone's respect.

(Side note - Compatible issue for Bloodlines Update if anyone cares: if the emulator is gpsp_mod for PSP, the game will have excessive lags when fighting larger bosses like living armors or Minotaur. You might want to run Bloodlines Update on a different device from the PSP since it's already decades ago unless you're core nostalgia into the PSP devices.)

Eric Lecard plays brilliantlyEldiran2022-06-21Version 2.2.47

While some of the characters feel quite stilted and awkward (particularly Megaman and Mario) the implementation of Eric Lecard is excellently done. He may be slightly overpowered, but his quick dash attack (with some i-frames) that flows cleanly into his other moves make him great fun to play. His crouching attack has interesting tradeoffs (faster, but less reach) and he has some reasonable weaknesses (he can't hit very short enemies and seems to have a larger hurtbox). Every animation looks good, even the Relic & spell animations. Perfectly implemented.

The Legendary Demon Castle Returns In English For The First TIme Ever!UltraEpicLeader1002021-10-02Version 2.0.1

Boy! Where do I start with this masterpeice of HOD hacking? This takes the glorious Revenge of the Findesiecle and upgrade it to a localized version through not JUST translating the original but also changing Rockman To Megaman. Though I would like to ask a few silly ideas/offer nitpicks.

Based on the Readme could I request the unaltered music play only if you pick Simon, SimonX, Mario, or Megaman because I believe what they were trying to do with the music for the most part is emulate the sound of the VRC6 chip for Famicom.

For Megaman: Could he explode when he dies like how he does normally if it's possible to implement.

For Mario: Could he be able to damage enemies by stomping on them like his home series and maybe also add one new track to the soundrack of the game being the Super Mario Bros. "Player Down/Life Lost/Death/Miss" Jingle?

A Legend finally tuned for english audiencesSabithaSuki2021-09-30Version 2.0.1

I have suppressed this review because of a bug that has since been hotfixed, and that alone proves this authors dedication to this master class ROM hack laid out before them.

I played the original Japanese version of this for years, and the progression of the secret chars like Megaman and Simon always irked me, but now I am happy to see this was rectified AND we get a fresh English translation.

Make no mistake, this is worthy of the Deluxe+ moniker, with all the balance and quality of life changes crafted, there is no doubt in my mind this is a true recommendation to any Metroidvania buffs out there!

Outstanding :)Serbagz2021-04-04Version 1.0.1

An old school favorite given a second wind for english speaking fans thanks to Sorrow, an excellent contribution to the community. Really been enjoying Julius mode w/ menu and HoD items. 10/10 Did exactly what he set out to do.

This goes way beyond expectationsOersted2021-03-31Version 1.0

I was in the same discord server as the guy who made this, and I can say, the amount of effort put into creating this is off the charts. The amount of Hex Editing required would have made me give up. Kudos, thank you.
