Hack description

This is an improvement patch for Pokémon Red and Blue that to adds limited color to the game when played in GBC mode as well as add the higher resolution Gold/Silver beta back sprites from Spaceworld '97. The color palettes are done in such a way that the games maintain backwards compatibility with the DMG (thanks to jojobear13 from pokecommunity). One version of the patch (for Blue) will also change the in-game trades and wild Pokémon locations to that of the Japanese Blue version. Don't expect this patch to be compatible with any other patch of the game.

For those who want a colorful Gen One, without sacrificing platform compatibility, this is for you. I played Yellow the most growing up, so imagine my surprise when I revisited Red and Blue and found the colors not as I recalled-since Yellow had the SGB palettes when played on a GBC and up! It was disappointing.

I think an eventual, further upgrade that was Gold/Silver style would be the best yet (full color on GBC and up, yet also backward compatible with SGB, GBP and DMG), but who knows how hard that would be! As it is, for having nostalgic, adequate colors on the handheld, and then being able to turn around and use the same cartridge in a Super Game Boy for variety, is simply awesome.

Amazing work, much appreciated!
