Hack description

The goal for this project was to combine the detail and "accuracy" of the Final Fantasy VI Advance text with the visual and auditory quality of the SNES release. Beyond that, patches that fix bugs, remove censorship, and add a few features without unbalancing the game (which itself was already an easy title to complete) were incorporated. There are two versions of the patch: one that leaves in the pop-culture and real world references and another that removes/changes those lines. For more details, see the readme file.

Finally! The Definitive Translation on the SNESBartvstheWorld2023-07-09Version 1.3

For my money, the GBA translation of FFVI by Slattery is the best way to experience this game. As LegendsofLocalization.com noted, it's accurate and preserves the story's nuances and characterizations in a wonderful, new way. Until now, you can only experience this translation on the GBA port, which was marred by bad audio and graphics shrunk down to handheld size.

But thanks to Moleman, the definitive translation is finally united with the way the game was meant to be played: on the SNES. I also appreciated how Moleman included a version that removes the worst parts of Slattery's text - the pop culture references. Outstanding work.

Not for puristsKIL9132021-10-01Version 1.0

It's a great patch, don't get me wrong, but there is still no options for purists who wants to experience the game as is with better translations.

The best way to experience this beautiful gameJoaco2021-07-21Version 1.0

This patch combines the best of both worlds: the superior translation of the FFVI Advance with the superior looks and sound of FFIII. Thanks to this patch now people can experience an accurate translation without restricting themselves to the GBA version.
