| Awsome Hack | Tmarkz1288 | 2024-05-20 | Version 1.0 |
Just got finished a playthrough. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves classic FF games but finds them much too easy. This game pushes you to use every skill/weapon/spell/item you come across to win. Definitely not for those who get discouraged easily. Did not notice any bugs besides Kary enemies leading to softlocks in certain instances, and a potential softlock during zeromus if you try to attack after you kill him but before the death animation happens. Easily my favorite playthrough of FF4 and hats off to the person/ppl who made this hack. You gave me a solid month of fun.
| It's... not great | smbai | 2024-03-29 | Version 1.0 |
I get that it is essentially supposed to be a hard mode, but this hack needs a serious overhaul. The first and foremost being the equip screen being vanilla which gives you no information whatsoever. And then there is no toggle for encounters on or off. There are tons of new spells too with no documentation whatsoever on them, I had to have FF4kster open on the side just to look at what the spells and equips ACTUALLY do. Zeromus was... yeah. Lets just say you should just intuitively know that he will use a spell that does 9999 damage to everyone so you need to have Kain in the air to survive. And he does it multiple times which you are just supposed to know. Its not a good mechanic. Items that are exclusive to 1/1280 drop chances are major yikers, ESPECIALLY when they aren't even good by the time you get the mid tier stat rings. Which brings me to the next thing, the equipment purposed are kinda bad. Helmets are for status protection and no stats. Armor is for defensive stats but no status protection. Accessories are basically a 1 stat boost piece of equip. And if not that then they are a racial glove which is next to useless. All in all, unless this gets a major overhaul, it's not worth your time.
