Hack description

This is an addendum hack to Super Mario Star Road by Skelux Core. It was intended to run on Nintendo 64 Hardware, But it works over emulator as well.

The original ROM Hack that was released back in December 25, 2011 was not fully compatible with Nintendo 64 Hardware. It was only compatible with Nintendo 64 Emulator.

This addendum hack has a lot of changes to make it fully compatible with Nintendo 64 Hardware.

List of changes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQjn4nVJIJw

* Dynamic level drawing distance

Great potential, but has a fatal bugifightdragons2021-06-01Version 1.0

As already outlined below, this hack is amazing in almost every way. But, the game over feature that forces a restart, should simply be eliminated. This would ensure a pretty much flawless hack.

At the present state, it's hard to recommend something that has such a major bug.

Still not quite rightpocket2021-05-31Version 1.0

The performance enhancements are great, so few Super Mario 64 hacks work on real hardware that it seems like a miracle when one comes along, especially one that's polished, unfortunately this one still has a pretty big problem in that it soft locks the game upon a game over. You get a totally black screen and cannot see anything, although you can hear the sounds of Mario walking and jumping, so you're forced to press reset every time, I really think this segment, as unique as it may be, should just be removed from the everdrive version of the game in favor of the traditional game over screen. But it's still a fantastic hack that works on hardware, it just comes with an inconvenience that you can work around by simply rebooting upon a game over... or you could try not dying but that isn't an easy suggestion considering the difficulty of romhacks at some points, especially on levels with a lot of pitfalls.
