Hack description

At the very beginning of Final Fantasy Adventure, two very similar characters see their paths diverge. One answers the call to adventure, while the other is left behind. FFA Gender Swap switches which of them plays each role in this epic story.

It also has a few other improvements meant to make playing more fun, including to the script, a text speed increase, and it fixes some gameplay bugs that have been present since the game was originally released over 30 years ago!

New this version, in the spirit of "show, don't tell", on the character naming screens you can now see exactly who you are naming!

Choose one of the included patches to apply based on your preference of the your character's gender, and whether your NPC companion is a girl or a Moogle:

This puts a nice new twist on an old classic. This patch doesn't re-invent the wheel, but it doesn't need to. Good if you want a different avatar for a great adventure game.

Final Fantasy Adventure is one of my all time favorite games. I must have played this game from start to finish over 10 times. So, naturally, I was really excited to find the FFA Gender Swap hack. In this hack you get to play the game as Amanda, who's normally one of the NPCs in the game. It's a fun idea, that's well implemented. All main character sprites are altered to Amanda and Amanda's NPC is now changed to the male character "Sumo". I've used all weapon animations in the game and can confirm that they all are working as intended. Dialogue was also changed to accommodate to the female hero, and this works fine too! Overall this is a fun little twist on a classic game, that was perfectly implemented by Xenophile. Highly recommended!
