This hack is built upon the "Super Mario Land DX" patch which is amazing so you can't really go wrong here. I guess it was made due to complaints about the new Mario sprite in the original hack. It's really a matter of taste here, but since this Mario sprite restoration has a bugged palette (screencap : https://ibb.co/n3KXCKn ), my preference goes to the original patch with the new Mario sprite. Still recommended for people who absolutely want the original sprite though !

I've been waiting for an addendum hack like this since the original Mario Land DX released and I'm so happy that it finally exists. The sprites of Mario look good, but when small Mario jumps, dies, or big Mario crouches, his skin color changes to white and it just looks odd

This mod is a good option for the most purists, I do not understand how the original author of Super Mario Land DX has not implemented it as option 2. I think the best thing you could do is contact with the original author and propose this option, perhaps he can help you correct the bugs you mention. As a suggestion, I propose that you put a review of the colors of Mario's Sprite, especially the buttons of the suit since I see that they are not colored and are transparent. In my opinion the best color to highlight the buttons of the suit would be yellow, It is also the one that is closest to the color of the nes Sprite from Super Mario Bros Original. For the rest, thanks for trying because in my case it was the only thing I didn't like about Mario Land DX, the Mario Sprite.
