It's pretty darn funOldSchoolGuy2021-09-12Version 1.1

I decided to check this hack out and see if it was any good, and I am glad I did. It's quite a different take on the original game, but at the same time, it does not stray too far with regard to how power-ups work and the like. The sprites were just modified as new-looking items.

The level designs are interesting and fun. They provide a level of difficulty but not so much that you are throwing stuff at the screen and ripping your hair out. The best part of the whole hack for me was actually the improvements to the mechanics of how Mario moves. Compared to how clunky the original game was, it's night and day. Most of the "inertia" when you land from a jump, or stop from a run, has been eliminated, and when you push on the D-pad to move, the response time is way better. Overall, I felt like I could really control the character a whole lot better. This made for a really fun gaming experience with this hack. It's like Mario actually does what I want him to now, and that makes most of the difficult jumps and maneuvers a whole lot easier to tackle.

Play the game. I recommend it. :)
