This applies to all the versions of Kirby's Dream Land DX; I'm reviewing this one because it's the latest version/most improved.

In general, this color hack is not great, and some of the color choices are a bit off and/or look bad (and sometimes plainly incorrect, like Lololo and Lalala's blocks being yellow instead of green). Most of the game gives the feel of a "filter" applied to the original game rather than a true GBC remake; for example, the sky in most levels is still white, and in the Configuration Mode and Sound Test, the entire screen is yellow. I also don't think the hack was thoroughly tested, as the special ending for Extra Mode is completely glitched.

For an example of a good color hack, see Kirby's Dream Land 2 DX. For Kirby's Dream Land 1, even just copying the colors from Kirby's Adventure would have been better, as they share a lot of graphics.

Why do I support this patch?

• Fixes *most* of the technical bugs that plagued the original DX hack, notably the missing special effects

• It adds Mono / SGB / Color support, with a new border. Few hacks go that far.

Note: You have to look elsewhere for the patch now.

When I played the original DX release of Dream Land, I did notice the weird transitions, but at first glance I didn't give it much of a thought or attention.

With Minucce's great attention to detail, it's now really on-the-face each time such bugs occur in the original, and now thanks to his amazing work, we can now enjoy a DX version of Dream Land with a great polish!

What's there left to say? Go and patch this over DX or Revised right now!

Fantastic hack! Fixes a lot of bugs and errors with the original DX/Revised, having proper transition screens is really nice. I love the added touch of the "Kirby's Adventure" like HUD. A must use hack on-top of the original DX/Revised (I personally recommend using Revised!)
