Reviews

Awesome work!!Insocial2022-01-13Version 1.01

This is, in my opinion, the best hack created for Streets of Rage 2 to date and therefore I highly recommend it.

Without a doubt, you can see the great effort that its creator makes to bring us the world of Fight'N Rage in a very convincing way, and at the same time trying to respect the mechanics of Streets of Rage 2, as far as possible...

I have nothing negative to say about it.

I'd just like the author to keep working on this hack, on things like creating a title screen and scenes that are congruent with Fight'N Rage, removing references to Streets of Rage 2 entirely.

That would certainly be sublime!

Enjoyed it more than Fight'N Rage itselfSupergamerguy2021-11-28Version 1.0

Though a lot of what's here in this hack is carried over from Streets of Rage 2, there's still some cool new stuff here as well. Obviously the big draw of this hack is the total overhaul of all the enemy graphics, which is superbly done by the way. I think the hacker ported the graphics over from Fight'N Rage very well, especially since the trope enemies of Fight'N Rage are so heavily "inspired" by Streets of Rage 2's enemy variety. The author found the perfect enemies to replace with their logical Fight'N Rage counterparts. I also liked the little jokes and references hidden in the enemy names throughout the game. Overall, I would absolutely recommend any Fight'N Rage fan play this hack, as the base mechanics, difficulty, and level design of Streets of Rage 2 are a lot more fun than Fight'N Rage to me, but now you get some of the look of that game in Streets of Rage 2 as well.

Maybe needs improvement, but has a potentialPersephone2021-11-26Version 1.0

First of all, I would say of this MOD is very nice. All of characters in this game has a new sprites, which makes me happy to play with.

However, compared to the original game, this MOD is somehow bit harder due to different moveset and damage dealt. For example, Axel is very strong with his — — B combo, but here, he is replaced by Norris, who are extremely weaker than him. Seriously, his sliding attack, almost no damage at all, and if I have to say, so undependable. I remember when I was playing as him for the first time and keep using that sliding attack so often, it takes more than 50 seconds just to beat the first section of stage 1 (I'm playing on Mania level, btw). This is extremely annoying and not friendly at all, especially for the novice or newcomers in this game. Perhaps you should increase the output damage of that move.

Oh, and those cats enemy, they are painful. Whenever I did punch combo to another enemy, and they approaching to me, whack !!! They're always hit me. And they keep repeating it all of the time :'(

Y button to uppercut is very helpful. When playing as Norris, after do 3 hits, just press Y and it will do damage higher than 4 normal hits combo. Your special attacks do significant damage, although it will cost your health.

Well, if you ask me, should I recommend this? I will say, YES. Though it is hard, at least this one is better than most of Yoni Arousement's MODs. Only small portion here which the enemy are replaced by another type according to original game. You don't have to beat Bongo, Ninja, Hakuyo, or even Kickboxer earlier than it should be here. :D

A perfect fit for SOR 2+RyeGuy+2021-11-24Version 1.0

After playing through round two, I was so impressed that I had to support this hack with a review. The weapons and pickups work, the sprites are nicely implemented, sound samples are high quality, and Fight'n Rage is a perfect match for the SOR 2 engine.

The original Fight'n Rage was a little on the technical side, with a lot of moves and combo memorization. Trimming that back to fit into SOR 2's arsenal was a welcome change for me. SOR2 Fight'n Rage could easily be a commercially released game. Well done!
