Hack description

This hack removes the game's password system and adds a game load/save feature. The game can be saved after passing through a stage or after the game is over. During loading, you can press the "selection button" to switch to "delete mode", where you can erase one of the four available slots. If someone enters the loading screen without any saved games, a soft reset should be required.

All item images are shown on the load/save screen, except the hyperbolt (although the game correctly saves whether the player found and used it or not).

Also, we added the "Versus Mode" in the title screen as its own menu, since the password system is now absent and this mode is originally available only through passwords.

This patch works on real hardware (tested with sd2snes)

To use it, apply the patches using any IPS patcher directly in the sfc file.

Great hack. Does exactly what it sets out to do, and it makes picking up and putting down the game a lot easier. I do have a couple of nitpicks though. I kind of wish passwords were still accessible because they're convenient for transferring save files around, though that's more of a me thing. Also there is no way to exit out of the load game menu, so if you open it when you don't have any save files you're soft locked. It's not really a big deal, but I thought I'd mention it. Aside from that it's a great hack, and using this along with the restoration hack is the best way to play Mega Man 7, hands down.

This hack is essential for anyone looking to play the game, and it makes me question why it wasn't originally like this in the first place. If I had to complain though, it kinda bothers me this doesn't work alongside Mega Man 7 Restoration. Still excellent though, can't recommend enough.
