A hardcore one...megaman_powered_down2011-03-28-

Let's take a look. At first, you might think graphics look different. They are, but only a little. The graphics themselves are unchanged, just "relocated". So for example you will see a sea horse in level 1-1 instead of jellyfish. Same thing happened to moveable, unmovable and fruit blocks. It's really nice to see a change, even if it's not much. Still, it gives a hack a little, fresh scent. Similar things happened to the music. The Melody is unchanged, but instruments and speed of music IS changed. This, like graphics, gives you a feeling of something new.

Now for the Gameplay. The difficulty was drastically increased. This is truly hack for hardcore gamers. First of all, you start with 1 life instead of 3. Secondly, almost every map has 4 enemies. Thirdly, secret panel positions and button combinations has been changed so you have to look for secrets by yourself. Level design is overall good. Maybe except 4-1 level. I can guarantee you: You will lose a life, maybe even 2 or 3 in this one because of it's bad design, which is very tight. You almost have no room to escape, this is frustrating... Also, all of bonuses was changed. It can be a quite a challenge. A good thing about them is that you can finish most of them in more than one way. BUT, the time is VERY strict. Usually you finish the Bonus level with almost no time left, even if you know combination of moves to pass it from the start.. There's also something special. A 5-5 level. Yes, the last one. It can give you mixed feelings. It can make you frustrated, curse author of hack, and make you bite keyboard. But, it can also give you a "this is last stage, we won't let reach Daisy!!" feeling. And this is wonderful. That's because enemies in 5-5 level are FAST AND CUNNING! No other enemy in original game was THAT clever.

Overall you can feel author efforts to make a hard hack. But casual players will hate this hack after...1 level maybe? 1 World? It really depends on player personality. And here's a TIP:Look into readme.txt for special secrets.
