It's a good hack, I dig it. It's assumedly an early version, but regardless it does everything it sets out to do assumedly. A hack with focus on multiplayer, particularly with the maximum player count, is something I can get behind on paper. However, with everything enabled on multiplayer and playing on real hardware or accurate emulation, E.G: Ares, the game can experience severe drops in 4-player mode, at times into the realm of unplayability (15 FPS). Some courses run a bit better, usually staying at or going above 15 FPS, up to 20, just barely playable. If I may, I'd suggest either optimizing the game using the existing MK64 Decomp, or offering a performance mode with vanilla MK64 3 and 4-player behavior which disables music and limits the amount of drivers to 3 or 4 (Depending on human player count). It's a fun time, but not very playable with 3 or 4 players unless using performance-focused emulators, ala Project 64, meaning you should stick to 1 or 2 players if playing on Ares or real HW. | |||
