Hack description

Aeron's Golden Cookie Quest is an old-school styled hack, that has inspiration in various videogames, including Kirby, Mega Man, Castlevania, Ganbare Goemon, Shinobi, Mario and others. Instead of being inspired in other SMW Hacks, this hack is all about platforming and tackling various obstacles.

What this hack contains:
- A custom player sprite, drawn by Deeke.
- A simple, but wacky lore;
- Cutscenes;
- 11 secret areas;
- A new checkpoint system + Instant Retry;
- Save areas, this game doesn't save automatically after beating a level;
- Neat selection of custom music;
- Tough platforming;
- Simple and challenging bosses;

Super well made, but super hardNesDraug2022-04-12Version 2.3.0

The custom graphics and music is superb. Even the story and the overall theme of the hack is really good. It feels like its very own game!

Too bad I couldn´t even get passed the second level. The first levels are full of unfair deaths, the side of the spikes will kill you and you can´t spin jump to get passed them. And you have to pull off quite challenging jumps just to be able to climb the chains.

The game gives you 1-ups at the Seaside Lookout (Yoshi's House) but the game is just too hard even with savestates. I'm no kaizo level player but I've played SMW since the 90s and I couldn't even get passed the second level in 100+ tries.

Since it shows that a lot of work went in to this I'm going to recommend it, but only for experienced players.

An easy mode without the spikes and with easier enemies would make me play this but as it is now it's just frustrating. Too bad since it looks awesome!

Awesome Hack!xZabuzax2022-04-11Version 2.3.0

Woah, this hack is among the best Super Mario World hacks out there, the sprite job, music, gameplay, cutscenes, etc... is pretty darn good. Almost everything changed, this doesn't feel like a Super Mario World game at all, definitely a top-notch hack, I highly recommend it!

My only complaint about it is that this hack is on the challenging side, I can't imagine playing this hack without save states, it's not crazy difficult like the Kaizo Mario hacks but it's still challenging, not extremely difficult, but challenging. Even the very 1st stage has challenging stuff, I would expect those stuff to be in the last stage or something but not the beginning.

That's my only complaint so far, other than that, this hack is excellent. People looking for a challenge will love this hack even more.
