Hack description

Fire Emblem: Storge is a relatively short hack with the premise that all recruitment (which is done by hiring mercenaries) and buying of weapons and items is done at the very start, and then the player must play through the rest of the game with those choices.

The story centers on the merchant Becker, who is on a trip from Fussell to Barnett, ostensibly to sell a shipment of Vikarian emeralds, but in truth, he is looking for his estranged daughter Gretchen, who is working there as a mercenary. Join the two as they venture forth, as a plot to seize power is poised to upend their simple trip...

Storge is a very short hack at only 5 stages, but each stage has a good deal of meat to it and the objectives are varied well. I absolutely adored playing through the game, and the first thing I did after beating it was start a new run to try a playthrough with a different team. The Build-A-Team aspect is really solid and personally what sold me on this hack, and I had a lot of fun going through the game and seeing where my chosen characters excelled and where they had a lot of problems. The enemy placement and map design make every character valuable! Story content for the hack is limited, but what is there is solid. This absolutely feels like a plot that could play out within a Fire Emblem game, and the characters and motivations feel sincere and written well. Overall this is an absolutely stellar hack and I recommend it to anybody who enjoys short, quality adventures. Whether you play through it once or ten times, you'll find a lot to love in this.
