Hack description

The purpose of this patch is to provide the best possible experience for both
longtime fans and newcomers without affecting the gameplay too much.

The script uses the Legend of the Crystals Translation done by Spooniest as a
base, and the jobs, abilities, and description's names from the GBA version.

Features:

*Better equipment for some jobs that previously can only equip one or two weapons (like the white mage).
*A GBA-like sprint.
*Now you learn blue magic without having to equip the "Learning" ability.
*Reworked Learning ability into an ability called "Lore" that gives you the stats of a Blue Mage.
*Berserker now has a command that casts berserk on him instead of always being berserk.
*Calm was reworked into an auto-berserk command.
*Restored enemy counter.
*Some minor improvements on the menu.
*Now the Ragnarok gives you stat bonuses.
*Time spell "Drag" has been reworked into a +1 temporary level up (useful to learn the "Lv #" spells).
*Genji equipment it's no longer missable.
*The missable songs and spells now can be purchased at the Dwarf Kingdom.

Reviews

A great game made greaterTombo692022-10-18Version 2.7b

Amazing work has gone into this work of art. Abilities that should have worked in the original now do and function better. The Berserker job is now worth using as you choose to auto fight rather than having it forced upon you. I love that the summons have a different personality to the classic and their new name reflects that, also the awkward blue magic to learn has been made easier by time magic. The creater is also very hands on, can identify and rectify the slightest hiccups and listens to and acknowledges the players. Keep up the great work T92

Fantastic version of a classicNintenja2022-10-06Version 2.7

A great version of FFV with many qol tweaks..Make no mistake about it. If you are looking for play FF5 on the SNES this is a great way to do it with many well selected improvements. I am a fan of both this hack and also its creator..thanks for your contributions in making an already good game much better. This hack keeps expanding further, soon I believe this will be the must play version of FF5.

More than just improvementsOld_gamer2022-06-21Version 2.5a

I remember beating this game 20 years ago. I normally don't come back to games I have beaten unless there is good reason. This is a great reason.

All too many improvements are presented to give this a face lift. All the tweaks work as intended and even better, works on the snes mini! No glitches, no problems to report at all.

There may be more improvements and I welcome every one. Thanks to all who did these modifications to an underrated gem!

Where are the Moogles in this Moogle Edition?lexluthermiester2022-05-07Version 2.2b

Been playing through this hack and it is a very good experience. Spooniest's excellent translation is properly applied and the GBA changes and enhancements seem to be present too. What is glaringly missing is the presence of Moogles in this "Moogle Edition". Granted I'm only 30% through the hack, but I keep waiting for an appearance from the hacks namesake and not finding them...

That complaint aside, this is solid Final Fantasy 5 experience! I recommend it if you enjoyed the GBA version of FF5 and want to have a similar experience on a system with higher resolution and screen size.
