| At last this is the perfect patch | Haruyuki Hyo | 2022-07-05 | Version 1.0 |
Well after the last update, this is the definitive one. There are sections where the game's framerate drops, but not as severe as it was in the original. I liked that he removed that annoying slide that Mega Man had, now you feel like you have more control over him. Check this patch with the Refill after Death and this works perfectly in case someone finds Mega Man 1 frustrating.

You may already know this game was a great package in theory (three great nes games with battery save, improved graphics and extras!), but full of big flaws. The first one is the controls and the fire rate, not only because they're different than the original; just too stiff and uncomfortable because of the lag. Lag is not something you want to have in an action game with lots of enemies and tight jumps... There was a patch that said to address this, but not quite. The slide makes the first two games easier and faster, and they may not be intended to play this way (though MM2 for the game boy had the slide and the bosses are harder in this game, so not exactly a game breaker) There is still room for improvement, as the game still slowdowns heavily for no reason, but maybe this point and the possibility of having a patch with no slide in mm1 and 2 (both things for purists) can be possible some day. Also when you turn around the controls are slower compared to the nes originals, but those minor things do not keep this game for beign much, much more enjoyable now to the point to be really a more valuable game now insted of a flawed mess. This was so needed, thank you!
