Gotta start this with the fact that seeing a new Mario Kart 64 Hack up is a nice surprise but this mod is just plagued with strange decisions. On paper, it's a fun time but in practice it's needlessly difficult to level up.

So let's start with what the objective is - squish every character once per course, per difficulty. Sounds simple enough, right? By default however, you have one lap to do this in with the ability to increase this by at least one more lap locked behind level 6.

Anyone who's played Mario Kart 64 will know why this is a poor decision, the game allocates two 'rivals' per GP and with not enough time to catch up after going for at least one CPU, you're pretty much locked to resetting every time you hit your two rivals and win because there's not way you're getting any others in the GP.

This makes leveling up beyond the point of tedious and just plain not fun. With this being the core of the hack, it's very hard to recommend this.
