Hack description

You'll be playing as Waluigi instead of Mario, which means Daisy instead of Toadstool! It's an alternate timeline where conventional heroes are away on vacation, but while they are off on some other sunshine-filled odyssey, Smithy has claimed first dibs on the Mushroom Kingdom. No matter the timeline, somebody must assume control of the situation surrounding the Star Road.

And that someone is Waluigi.

Timings are important, so keep your party members, items and abilities in mind in order to smash and adapt to the enemies. You won't be running through to the end the game blindfolded; the difficulty has "grown up" since 1996, without creating impassable barriers.

A little harsh, but good. (Final edit).loinator2023-01-26Version 1.2

Final edit:

I finished the gane before using patch 1.1 and now again using 1.2.

The game is now... Very good imo.

The difficult went down a little, the game is still harder than vanilla but it's not punishing. Also using items is sometimes needed to clear some tough bosses, but the creator did a good job there.

The new item effects are nice, the ending gaming ones too.

Overall a very good hack, worth a full playthrough.

I really just wish that Waluigi could be a little taller/skinner, but again, I know that changing the sprite is a nightmare.

Awesome job, fun and well done hack!

Everything about this hack is perfect.veggie_Delight2022-10-29Version 1.2

Amazing QOL changes, new secrets and rewards, fun new enemies and stats. Try the new patch if you haven't already.

It plays so much better now, I dig itGoogie2022-10-01Version 1.2

This is one of those Super Mario RPG hacks that you gotta play, I'm having a cool time with it and I like all the fixes. I'm a Waluigi fan, sue me. ;)

I have only one suggestion, if you can edit the graphics to make Waluigi look like Waluigi that'll be pretty cool. :D

Check the hack out, I'm gonna have to start hunting down more Super Mario RPG hacks now. :)

Very Unbalanced, almost unfair, even?Will3319992022-09-19Version 1.1c

This is probably the hardest most unfair hack I've played and finished, and I've beat most of Armageddon hard mode.

To give you an idea, the Smithy fight took me an hour and a half on one attempt. With fast forward. He simply has far too much hp and defense.

Normal battles have inflated hp, and some have taken me up to 5 minutes to finish. That is not fun for a normal encounter. I grinded to level 30 and most fights still took me ages.

The game also has you go on an absurd hunt for a "Blue coin" I never found this. Even after looking in the game files with the editor I never found it.

If a version 2 happens I'd likely give it a shot, if it entails the nerfing of many enemies. As it stands, this is a hard no from me atm.

Please add difficulty optionsEchoherb2022-09-01Version 1.1b

A wonderful premise. Waluigi is a great character and having his own adventure is a nice idea. Unfortunately it's yet another hack that ridiculously ups the difficulty. I don't want to have to struggle through the game trying to perfectly time everything, it's just not fun. An option for a difficulty closer to vanilla would be nice.

Too difficultPlattym32022-08-29Version 1.1a

Waluigi is my favorite character in Nintendo gaming. I'd never played this game before, but figured with Waluigi, I'd finally give it a chance. I played for over 2 hours, but after 10 Game Overs leading up to the first Goomba, it was too much. I guess I'm unable to git good enough.
