This is a buggy untested hack. While most of the game was fine (I really enjoyed the creativity put into it) my main complaints with it are the bugs and the difficulty spikes. Since the stat cap went from 20 to 50 enemies at the end of the game will likely be overpowered, with many magic users using the Maph spell in the penultimate chapter (the Barlight magic doesn't have enough durability for you to be able to kill them all, and it can't be repaired), as well as units dying from killing Bishops whose only weapon is a Relive/Reblow staff. There are also multiple useless units in this game, the worst offender being of course Morodf which will quickly be replaced by Henry once you get him. While I had a great time playing this hack I can't really recommend it because of its flaws. I hope that the author releases a new version addressing these issues

I've played a fair amount of Fire Emblem hacks, but it's not every day you see a Fire Emblem 1 hack. I've poked around in the rom a fair bit, and have made a few chapters, but I haven't gone and made a full hack. Polinym however, has! Time for Tom is a hack of Dark Dragon and the Sword of Light, with all the simplicity that entails. Still, things have been enhanced from the original 1990 title. Several more items and weapons have been implemented, such as the steel lance and a variety of personal weapons for the cast. The resistance stat now actually exists, and magic scales with strength. All units promote with the one promotion item, too. An absolutely vital improvement is in the field of item management: everyone can access the convoy at any time, with no deposit fee. Sending an extra item from an enemy drop still costs 10 gold, though. The story doesn't take itself seriously, and it doesn't need to. Thomas and Jake go on a funny time travel adventure, encountering characters from throughout the Fire Emblem franchise and interfering with the events within. I wanted to see just where they wandered into as all the chapters passed. I did run into a few bugs as I was playing through. These included a unit dying for no reason when fighting a Reblow bishop in Chapter 4, the Chapter 8 recruit starting with 45 temporary resistance, and a text box in the ending looping infinitely with glitched text. The enemies also get much stronger than normal towards the end of the game, and the original caps of 20 have been increased to 50. This results in a difficulty spike, so beware of that. A few powerful units are given to fight these enemies if your units aren't strong enough. Overall, it's a Fire Emblem 1 hack, and you won't forget that. But that doesn't really bother me. I prefer the older, simpler Fire Emblem games, and I enjoyed myself playing Time for Tom. I will leave this one piece of advice, without spoiling anything: buy a dragon killer, when the situation arises. Now sit back, relax, and enjoy this excellent adventure.
