Hack description

This is an extensive improvement hack that seriously tries to take the 'wasted potential' the author saw in the game and bring it to life to make the game more appealing to all. This was accomplished mainly by balancing all aspects of the gameplay.

This patch is based on Neo Demiforce's FF2j translation.

The following are just SOME of the changes that were made. (See the Readme for the rest):

Reviews

The overall premise is interestingelmontro422018-10-03Version 1.0

I am actually one of the few brave souls who enjoys Final Fantasy II for what it is. I am also one who wishes the game received a proper patch that addresses many of it's faults such as select cancel trick, ultima, Firion hardly being targeted and fixing his rapid soul increase along with his low evasion in comparison to Maria and Guy.

The idea behind this patch is interesting, but I feel that the balance was shifted too much. Yes, the party has decent amount of hp but the enemies just damahe you like there's no tomorrow. It seems as if the enemies are too strong. The readme states that this patch gradually increases difficulty but it feels super tough early on.

The Variety in the Town's armor and weapon shops is a welcomed change. It gives one incentive to actually fight monsters for gil and not just to grind magic. Speaking of which the encounter rate seems a tid bit higher than the already high encounter rate of Final Fantasy II.

All in all, Anyone who has played FF II should give this a try. It's interesting for sure.
