Hack description

Agahnim cast a spell to send princess Zelda to the nightmare realm leaving Link to defeat the 6 dream hosts and face his biggest fear, a dark reflection of himself.

Explore 4 all new regions of the Nightmare Realm of Hyrule.

6 redesigned palaces with all new layouts.

Link's sword does slightly less damage and spell costs have been restructured to remove fairy spell abuse for certain obstacles.

New land shift was created to open a small map area to explore This also causes an area to become blocked off making future passage more difficult than before the shift. Text clues a hidden within the game. Moderate difficulty.

Many upgrades to the game based off the work of the contributors of Zelda II Redux including:
-retaining 1 ups
-restart from palace steps
-updated shield spell changes links tunic
-forced encounters in Eastern Hyrule use original Japanese music selection
-Link can turn back to person from fairy on current screen
-title screen updates to match original cover art
-map tile motion added
-great palace now completable through any path taken

One of the best Hack for this gameKrokus742022-11-16Version 1.0

First of all, this is not a game for everyone. If you found the original Zelda 2 too hard, this one isnt for you. You will need to know some advanced technic to progress in the game. By exemple some block wall to break with lava. This game isnt easy, but not hard like some others hacks i played, but to enjoy this game you will need to be at least a very good Z2 player. You will need to jump at the perfect timing sometimes!

Graphics are really nice, you can return in Link in the same screen, lifes you find in the game will be always added each time you restart so it gonna help more you find those. You restart on each dungeons so it s nice to restart from there and not restart from the begining each time, it saves a lot time.

I tested that game before the final release, but unfortunatly i missed some hardlock...all rocks in the ocean and the one in a dead end in Death Mountain can Hardlock you with an encounter...and you can get stuck after a cave if you dont have the hammer...If you dont try to break the game with elevator, or get trap with rocks, you will be good!

Finaly, after playing all AoL rom hacks possibles, this one is one of my favorite. the level difficulty is enought hard to have a good challenge, but it will not be impossible like some others. You will lost lifes to learn the game and that fine, when it s too easy, it s boring!

Hynes357 did an awsome job with this one!

Tough so farzetanewtype2022-07-08Version 1.0

A promising rom hack, however I found the difficulty to be pretty extreme. You can die by simply walking next to pits without falling into them just because you touched the edge of them. Softlocked game in the very first dungeon by getting stuck between two block pillars. momentum needed to jump upon them impossible with the space given. I'm afraid to even see what awaits the player when they get farther into the game. It needs some proper testing. No one said Zelda 2 was too easy of a game. And making the first dungeon have blue Darknuts seems a little extreme. If there are some changes to make it less broken, it would be worth playing in the future.
