Hack description

Metroid FreezeFlame 2: Twisted Dimensions is the sequel to the 2020 released hack Metroid FreezeFlame.
In comparison to the first entry in the FreezeFlame series, this hack is not entirely a heat run. Only a short portion in the beginning requires forced damage through heat!
The hack was created for the Metroid Construction One Week Contest, which gave contestants one week to create a ROM-Hack or Fangame from scratch.

FreezeFlame 2 is a unique hack since it uses the portal elements from FreezeFLame 1 to put the players in worlds formerly only known from other ROM-Hacks. It is reccommended that the player is at least a bit familiar with other Metroid: Zero Mission ROM-Hacks to have a truly good time with this hack.

Very Fun for those who Love ZM Hacks~Subject N2812023-12-27Version 1.0

I don't know why I was caught off guard with different locations showing up in this Hack, it's right there in the name. Wasn't expecting a tiny love letter to the major ZM hacks out there but here we are, and it's fun~ if you recognize the areas it's a weirdly nostalgic trip through hacks before~ I love the names kept for custom powerups, wish the custom music made it for stuff like S6 and Spooky Mission but ehh, I'll take it one way or another~

Good Mini hack~ very fun running down Hacked Memory Lane with good ol Sammy~

Great nostalgic funShadowN642023-12-25Version 1.0

This one was really interesting because it took a lot of pieces from other ROM hacks and had the player go back and forth between them. It was really fun to see those themes and worlds again. With that said, this definitely wasn't as polished as some of the other ones (or FreezeFlame 1). There were a couple of glitchy areas, like one room where there was a column of invisible blocks, or coming out of one warp area there was a leftover skree stuck in the wall that you could hear and see explode. There was a Kraid room shown on the map but you couldn't get to it and just above it was an o on the map indicating an item, but again you couldn't get to it. I wanted to 100% the game but the item quantities on the map were incorrect so it showed I was missing a bunch of items even though I had everything.

But those are kind of nitpicky details. Overall it was a lot of fun and definitely worth playing. 7/10! Took about 1 hour to complete with all items.

The Twist was in fact, the DimensionsMylocke2023-07-13Version 1.0

Freeze Flame 2 features a smaller segment of the original but takes a turn when you get the Varia suit quite early, somewhat defeating the purpose of the first game, until you find that inside this game are many segments of other Hacks that Contendo has worked on, hence THE TWISTED DIMENSIONS. The part of FF1 that remained felt somewhat like an over-world just to access the other hack worlds and gain abilities to access other hack worlds and ultimately escape. Very Clever idea, that I have never seen implemented in a Metroidvania to my knowledge, and hope to see more of in the future.

Bosses are spread throughout including one of the 'coolest' versions of Ridley I've ever defeated. It was fun to go through some of the hacks I have previously played and it also whet my appetite for playing the once I haven't. A good 1.5 Hour challenge.
