Hack description

This is a hack for Gimmick! (J) that aims to make the jumping mechanics more forgiving.
It accomplishes this with the following two changes:

These changes make it less likely that a jump input gets "lost", especially when making tight jumps or jumping off of slopes and moving surfaces.

Gimmick is really good this makes it betterPoyoPoyo19852024-06-27Version 1.0

Gimmick or Mr.gimmick for people outside of Japan is a good game but it's hard. This hack makes little easier and more fun so good job hacker!

Dealing with gimmicks just got a whole lot easierSupergamerguy2023-07-22Version 1.0

This is a must-use hack for "Gimmick!". As a player who'd never seen the game past the first stage before, this patch makes tackling the brutally difficult platforming sections a little more forgiving. Jumping off slopes feels much better now, as well as frantically jumping around stages to avoid enemy projectiles.

This makes a much bigger difference than I thought it wouldCaptain N2022-09-23Version 1.0

When I first patched this and gave it a try I didn't really think it would make that much of a difference but when I played the game back to back with the unpatched version, the difference was night and day and it makes the game just that little bit more responsive and forgiving to play. I would actually love to see more patches for old NES games that allowed for Coyote-jumping and the ability to start another jump slightly before you actually land the first.
