| Strange, but interesting | diablo666 | 2022-10-08 | Version 1.3 |
If you look among the released, then it is strange, but interesting in implementation. Combining "Ninja Turtles" and "Mario" is strange. However, a good Level Design, neat graphics and great music convey the atmosphere well. And really, though strange, but you can feel the effort in this hack. Is it worth the attention? | Nesdraug breathes new life into the SMB1 format | Ogpog | 2022-10-01 | Version 1.1 |
Nesdraug doesn't just make Romhacks, he creates original concepts for each Romhack, with new game dynamics and new music for everyone to enjoy, breathing new life into the SMB1 format. I love the breakable bridges in this game and the effort he has taken in creating catchy new music. The difficulty is fair for most players, with the opportunity to try speed running it, with your own fancy moves. More please, maybe a 2 player coop version perhaps. Fantastic work ????????.
| Funny Hack with Turtle Power | tygerbug | 2022-09-30 | Version 1.1 |
Super Mario Bros is the most often-hacked game of all time, and a hack really has to do something different and unique to stand out. This hack passes that test. The music carries a lot of the weight here, mashing up Super Mario Bros and the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles NES game in an amusing way. Mario apparently has a vendetta against turtles, and the enemies are now mostly turtle-related, including the four Ninja Turtles as Bowser. This could have been pushed farther but works well enough. The palette choices are a bit dark and murky, with a lot of black and green. The levels are unique, with some elements unlike anything in the regular game. It can be frustrating but it's unique enough, and worth the time you'll spend playing through.
