Hack description

A sequel to Starlight Mario consisting of 12 brand-new levels (3 worlds), along with new custom music and animations. Mario has found himself in a dark realm and must retrieve the skeleton key before it's too late.

This hack has a dark, brutal aesthetic that I really enjoy; it's on the gritty side, but with enough color that it really works. The spritework is impressive, too; you're battling a ferocious army of the undead, and Mario looks equally like he's about to take no prisoners. The level design is great, too; I don't know how to explain it, but it makes you feel like a total badass. I think it's because it's tricky, but flows well enough that you can pull of the complicated maneuvers without slowing down all that much.

The graphic component of the hack has been qualitatively redesigned here. Now it's not just a "rework", but a full-fledged game that is different in graphic terms. The level is a little more complicated than the original, but it does not become less interesting, because they are honest to the player. It already depends on your skill in passing the games New music and changing sounds - give the hack new sensations and a kind of depth. It's worth a try for both beginners and those who already have experience in Classic Mario games
