Rockman 5 KT - EHDobu_GM2024-02-08Version 1.0

Rockman 5 KT

Levels: Okay

Graphics: Eh (same tileset)

Music: No Change

Enemies: No Change

Bosses: Eh (Gyro/Charge Man are Bad)

Weapons: No Change

Castle: Eh

Difficulty: MEDIUM-HARD (Wily Castle is EASY-MEDIUM)

Comments: KT is all over the place. The one thing it does well is provide a consistent challenge across many of its levels, but this comes with significant drawbacks. There are dozens of cheap insta-death spinning platform segments, enemies are spammed until the screen flicker overloads, and Wave Man's boat ride has a ludicrous jump that'll require save states to figure out. Bosses are no slouch either, having many of their attacks sped up and multiplied, on top of half of them boasting an immunity to your mega buster (so good luck figuring out where to go first). The only saving grace here is that you can easily farm e-tanks in Gyro Man's stage, and by the time you reach the Wily Castle the hack runs out of steam (none of the Wily bosses are even altered). KT certainly succeeds at making Mega Man 5 hard, but it comes at too great a cost.
