Hack description

This is a hack that changes various gameplay mechanics for the Master including:

• The X Button now allows spells to be cast instantly much like the previous title


• Maximum spell points increased from 10 to 20


• Spell points are regained upon death if less were available than the starting amount


• The spell charging system has been reworked to allow casting without a spell point cost, as such the charge length begins at 4 'Charge Ticks'

  • Deception (Palace 2) - Spell charge time reduction by 1 'Charge Tick'
  
  
  • Greed (Stormrook) - Spell charge time reduction by 1 'Charge Tick'
  
  
  • Envy (Altheria) - Starting spell points increased by 2
  
  
  • Gluttony (Demon's Cave) - Starting spell points increased by 2
  
  
  • Sloth (Benefic) - Damage knockback now results in a special animation that allows control to be regained more quickly
  
  
  • Wrath (Almetha) - Damage reduction, damage over 2 is now reduced by 1
  
  
  • Pride (Tower of Souls) - Gain the bladebeam normally given in Deathheim
  
  
  • Intro Tanzra (Demo) - Gain a permanent extra life
  
  
  
  


• Instant death spikes no longer kill instantly with the exception of moving spike walls that chase you, instead they do a maximum of 8 damage or 7 with damage reduction


• Any other stage hazards that deal over 8 damage have been reduced to 8 or 7 with damage reduction


• The password that allows you to fight Tanzra from the introduction demo (BJQX YRKC DLSZ) now works for any difficulty selected


• Entering the Tower of Souls early is now possible on normal and hard difficulties by holding Select when talking to the people of Humbleton


• Deathheim is now locked behind all levels instead of only Tower of Souls


• The skidding animation from gliding into the ground has been greatly reduced to allow more player control


• The character has much more air control than before, allowing for free movement in the air with some exceptions


• The stage timer is now stopped

These changes will make the game much easier as well as allow for new routing opportunities with the different rewards available. Having Intro Tanzra and the Tower of Souls freely available from the beginning should provide some new experiences. Despite the Triple Fireball spell's damage being reduced by 1, it is still one of the best spells available. Hopefully this hack breathes some new life into ActRaiser 2.
