So, I really enjoyed this ROM hack. I always loved the idea of a little kid being the game-breaking Easy Mode in a game. And Maria here is just fun to play as. This ROM hack really does feel like if Konami put in more effort to implementing a Maria mode in Portrait of Ruin.

However, I do have some complaints/suggestions for future versions. First of all, the Japanese voice track (played when holding L while pressing New Game) has Jonathan voice Maria, while Charlotte is voicing Byakko. This is a jarring experience and forces the player to play with the English dub, and is not good for people who prefer the Japanese audio for this game. The second issue is that the cartridge title and icons are still unmodified from the original ROM. This makes it weird when looking for the game on TWiLight Menu++, as I have to look at the box art I assigned to distinguish this ROM hack from the original.

All in all, aside from these issues, I highly recommend this ROM hack.

This hack is a jewel. I don't know how much time it took but it's really awesome.

Have you been sad that Maria in Richter mode can't have weapons and stuff? Well this mode is for you.

Enjoy a fresh run with Maria and her lovely cat to defeat the bad guys who use scary magic.

I only recently learned about how you can talk to your partner and they will say different things depending on where you are, like each bosses have a specific text. I'm happy to see that the authors of this patch also included all those text in the changes.

Maria is so powerful. I like the addition of all the new custom items. I think this patch makes the game easier, at least in normal mode, but very funny and fast paced (which is good). I have yet to try hard mod.
