Kirby's Adventure eats jump and attack inputs sometimes. Yummy! Due to an unfortunate design oversight, the game does not prioritize attack and jump inputs over other in-game actions, and it will ignore these inputs in specific situations. This hack fixes all that =)Screenshots

Kirby's Adventure is definitely not one of the easiest games ever, and for just one reason it's even harder. Why, you ask? Well, I'll tell you. The controls are the reason. Sometimes, for whatever reason, when you press A to jump or B to use a Copy Ability, Kirby does beautifully NOTHING and just stands there like an idiot. And, you guessed it, the enemies get to hit him without any problem this way. I have been making a translation of this game for some time, and when I had to play it to test it out, every time this happened has unnerved me so much I almost wanted to break my computer, no kidding. How this problem wasn't even noticed by the developers or Masahiro Sakurai himself, we'll never know. Finally, someone makes a patch to correct this issue, and the difference is immediate: Kirby now always jumps or attacks at all times when you press the buttons, even when you jump and then quickly use your Copy Ability move. I can safely say I cannot go back to the unpatched game anymore after trying this hack! On a side note, I hope to see additional patches for the other available versions of the game (Japanese, European, French, German and Canadian) one day. This is to assure that not only American gamers, but also European gamers like me can play the game without the sometimes unresponsive controls.

Anyone who's familiar with Kirby's Adventure knows about its two main technical flaws: the many slowdowns, and the inputs being mysteriously lost at times. While the slowdowns have been addressed thanks to emulators like Mesen, the missing inputs still remained, till now. Getting to play a tight and responsive version of the game is a dream come true, and with both weaknesses being history, it's gonna give the GBA remake a run for its money!
