Hack description

This is a mod that expands on the game in a way that gives the player new challenges, while also
giving him the tools to overcome said obstacles. Some dungeons can be accessed in
a different order, and it is actually necessary to leave a dungeon, get an item, then come back to finish it. The whole game, dungeons and overworld, becomes a big puzzle box. That's why knowledge of the base game is certainly a plus, but for the unexperienced, trial and error with the tools in hand is also key to advancing in some puzzles.

gabyelnuevo description:
- So what this 'mod' pretty much has is (a lot) of hex editing and
edits to maps with SceneNavi. There is not anything involved
with custom maps or custom music or none of that stuff.
it is possible to beat it without any cheats.

features:
- changes to cutscenes being either shortened or cut for pacing
- different routes
- changed locations of items (but the knowledge of regular item's placement may be useful)
- changed mechanics (jump and slash, animations)

Patch the ocarina debug rom. Any debug rom should work.

An interesting start, but fails to live to its name afterwards.Darklen2024-02-13Version 1.0

A fun little thing early on, admittedly. It's very interesting to see underwater Iron Knuckle fights and having access to both boot and clothing variations as a child adds a little more spice to the mix. The changes to Deku Tree which, while understandably nothing too crazy, make it a more engaging experience.

Unfortunately, that's where the fun ends more or less.

It starts with a tiny, little thing. The second Iron Knuckle fight can be a little annoying if you run out of sticks early without hitting both of them, but it can be done, so not much issue with that.

With Hover Boots you can get into Gohma's Lair after doing some mental gymnastics. It's doable, if annoying, despite having to brute force the combination after that, so the first dungeon is complete-able.

However, as soon as you get out of the Deku Tree it all goes to hell.

Dodongo Cavern (which is... mostly unchanged.) cannot be completed. Technically.

Rather than getting access to bombs with the first chest, you get a Stone of Agony. And the other chests in the dungeon are just 5 rupees. All of them.

So you'd have to go to Lord Jabu-Jabu's Belly (which is unchanged!) and get 10 Bombchus from there, and might as well get the boomerang and complete the dungeon while at it.

If you manage your resources carefully from there, you can use those 10 bombchus and barely complete both dungeons with those 10 bombchus, using hover boots to your advantage.

Problem is, without save states it's really, really easy to mess up and get soft locked at that point, since even as an adult you can't complete Dodongo's Cavern.

Without completing either of those dungeons, you can't access Song of Time. And without Song of Time, you can't access the Temple of Time.

If you become Adult Link through the Master Sword (which is now located on Lost Woods, for some reason), you can't get out of the Temple of Time Master Sword room without resetting.

If you save and reset, you can't get INTO said room, which means you can't turn back into a child without clipping.

However, it gets worse. Hookshot is terribly bugged. Using it just makes Link walk forward infinitely without being able to use any other button, so... it also soft locks you from practically everything.

There's also weird quirks like getting multiple copies of the chicken (which gets replaced with magic beans instead), animations looking a little goofy, or, strangely enough, being able to use Boomerang as an adult. That's not an actual issue, however.

So, with a good conscience I can't really recommend this mod beyond the first dungeon. At this point it's not more than a Demo, unfortunately, because it's somewhat promising.

A full length hack that nobody will finishChadlight2023-04-26Version 1.0

Well what to say? The hack's images are eye catching for sure, Young Link with a bigger sword?

For what it's worth the hack has some interesting ideas, Underwater Iron Knuckle fights, equippable boots and tunics as Child, and an early Adult Link are all interesting ideas.

It's a challenge hack that makes Master Quest look like baby mode, expect to die a lot your first playthrough.

It's too bad I and everyone I know who played this hack only managed to beat 1 dungeon before being completely unable to progress. I imagine the developers put a lot of time into every dungeon and mini dungeon in this hack only for this hack to be released in an unbeatable state. When or if this hack is updated I will update my review as well but for now stay away except for curiosity only.
