I haven't played throughout the entire game yet, but the first impressions are pretty good. Stella's sprites are adorable and well made, they'll have you wonder if they're not from a 16-bit game, considering how well done and detailed they are. The original only let you play as Alex, thus allowing us only half of the arcade experience. Now sum the presence of Stella with a few more cosmetic tweaks, also made with the same care, and the final product is a new, refreshing way of playing Lost Stars. Oh, it's also compatible with Maxim's "arcade voices" hack that can be found elsewhere.

Played through the whole game in FM mode which made the game even more fun to play as Stella. Really love that you get to play as Stella other than Alex, I really love her sprite work and that she's a mermaid in the underwater level, I really love her cute scared animation when she runs backwards and jumps backwards as well. By far the best thing I've ever seen and played and I highly recommend this version of Alex Kidd And The Lost Stars (Stella Edition) to all that want to play as this cute character other than playing as the main character Alex. Really amazing work making Stella a playable and main character of the game.
