Exactly What It Says on the TinRonko Phoenix2023-08-31Version 1.0

For those unfamiliar with the hack's context: The game does not allow you to progress past World 1-1, but that was intended by the author. While I did wish I could see more of the hack, the hack itself was a top-to-bottom recreation of a YouTube video, depicting an anti-piracy screen in the first 'Mario' game. It does not do much because the source material doesn't, either. The purpose of an anti-piracy screen is similar to a normal video game demo, except that it involves trolls that encourage the player to follow the law and purchase the full game; the good news is, this hack and its source material are entirely fan-made, so the player does not have to worry about being thrown into the slammer. More good news is that the player can use a cheat code to induce a level selector on the title screen, which is usually possible after beating the game. I personally thought it was impressive that the author implemented used "?" blocks into the level, considering that the player otherwise has to use the block themself. As it stands to me, 'SMB Anti Piracy Screen' is a fascinating remake/art project that does what it sought out to do, and it is a direct, playable port of a YouTube video. The hack is also similar to the 'Super Mario Bros. 3' hack, 'Super Depressed Bros.', where there is no way to complete levels or beat the hack because it symbolizes depression.

Very Short durationEl Omar2023-08-30Version 1.0

Its very short duration is disappointing; This hack caught my attention and I wanted to try it, my surprise was great when when I reached the end of the level, it simply ended, because there is no way to continue advancing
