Hack description

Despite coming out after Kirby Super Star, the mechanics and controls of Kirby & The Amazing Mirror were largely based on its predecessor: Kirby's Adventure.

This hack does not aim to bring absolutely all of the modern sensibilities that KSS introduced, but rather:
- Not dropping the copy ability every single time Kirby takes damage
- Hovering only with the jump button -- leaving Up on the +Control Pad to be used by other mechanics with fewer frustrations

This is the true Amazing MirrorHaruyuki Hyo2023-12-12Version 1.0

I realized there was also this patch for Amazing Mirror.

Although it is good that the mechanic of not losing the ability when receiving damage is adjusted, if a sub-boss grabs you you lose the ability which is fine although it should not be always the case.

Now let's break the game with Smash copy

This little hack works great! Some clarification regarding damage however: with this patch applied, Kirby will never drop a power-up when hit by a standard, non-elemental attack. Fire, ice, and electric attacks however (as well as their respective environmental hazards) will cause Kirby to drop whatever power-up he's holding. From a game balance perspective I think that's mostly fine. Worth the price of admission just to be able to float with the A Button!
