Hack description

F-Zero Climax has two versions of the Sand Ocean venue. High Speed Edge I/II/III take place in calm skies, and Key Break I/II/III take place in a sand storm. In Climax's track editor, the storm version is clumsily dummied out. Through the use of a cheat device, like Action Replay, the storm version is selectable. You can even save your course and export it to a friend, with full functionality! The only two drawbacks are that the editor UI will have the wrong palette and music, and the menus will claim that the course is in Mute City.

This patch separates Sand Ocean and Sand Storm into separate, but related, venues. They share music and palettes, but one has the wind effect. The Key Break courses now take place in Sand Storm, which has its own icon in Grand Prix mode. Sand Storm also becomes selectable in the course editor, with the correct palettes and music. Courses created with this patch can be shared with anyone, and even loaded onto the retail cartridge.

This patch is compatible with the Japanese original rom, as well as the English and Spanish translations. It is contained within the larger patch, "F-Zero: GP Climax".
